SCENTORI is a registered business name of Royden Scott McKechnie, sole trader (ABN 47 783 347 726), based in Hobart, Tasmania. We supply scent diffusers and refill oils to businesses.

This policy explains what personal information we collect through our website, scentori.com.au, and the SCENTORI app, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

When you contact us or use our website

  • The details you enter in our contact form: your name, business name, email, phone number and anything you tell us about your space.
  • Emails you send us, and requests for a visit, a free trial or refills.
  • Basic website usage information collected by our website provider through cookies, such as pages visited and the type of device and browser used.

When you use the SCENTORI app

The app does not have user accounts. It does not collect personal information, and does not send any information to SCENTORI or anyone else.

  • Diffuser settings: the names, strengths, schedules and oil reminders you set are stored only on your phone and your diffuser.
  • Bluetooth: the app uses Bluetooth only to find and control your SCENTORI diffusers.
  • Location: the app does not use your location. On Android 11 and older, Android requires location permission before any app can scan for Bluetooth devices. The app asks for it on those phones for that reason only, and never reads or stores your location.
  • Notifications: if you allow them, reminders such as low oil are created on your phone.
  • The app has no advertising and no analytics or tracking tools.

The app does not take orders or payments. To order refills, you contact us by email or through our website.

Why we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and arrange a visit or free trial.
  • To supply and deliver refills.
  • To give you local support and arrange service visits.
  • To meet our tax and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

We use trusted providers to run our business. Some of them store data outside Australia.

  • Squarespace: our website and contact form. United States.
  • HubSpot: our customer contact records. United States.
  • Microsoft 365: our business email and files. Australia.
  • Zoho Books: accounting and invoices. Australia.
  • Australia Post or our courier: delivering refills. Australia.

We also share information if the law requires it.

Keeping it safe

Only the employees at SCENTORI have access to the information we hold. Our providers encrypt data in transit.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and customer records while you are a customer or while we are discussing your enquiry. We keep financial records for 5 years, as Australian tax law requires.

Your choices

  • Ask for a copy of your information, or a correction, by emailing sales@scentori.com.au.
  • Ask us to stop contacting you at any time.
  • Ask us to delete your information. We will confirm by email and remove it within 30 days, apart from the financial records we must keep for tax.
  • Uninstalling the app deletes everything it stored on your phone. To clear the settings saved on a diffuser, reset it as described in its owner manual.

Complaints

Email sales@scentori.com.au and we will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We will post any changes on this page and show the new date at the top. If the app starts to collect information, for example if we add accounts, we will update this policy before that change goes live.
